Lorna Peers was appointed as Finance Director in March 2011, having joined the Company in June 2010. Prior to joining Angel, Lorna held senior financial and company secretary positions at Stem Cell Sciences PLC, an international biotechnology company specialising in the provision of stem cells and stem cell technologies with dual Listings on the London Stock Exchange and Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). Lorna is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, having completed her training with The Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
Stewart White joined the company in December 2011 as commercial director and appointed Acting-CEO in March 2012. Following a period of post-doctoral cancer research, he joined Eli Lilly and Company as a fermentation production scientist, manufacturing API's under GMP. He then moved into contract manufacturing at Bioreliance as Biomanufacturing manager, managing the GMP production of cell banks, vaccines and other biologics for use in clinical trials, for a range of global clients. Prior to joining Angel, he was employed by Devro plc, as technical operations manager, charged with growing their global medical collagen business. This involved establishing clean room manufacturing capability and sales offices, defining commercial strategy to serve a global customer base in regenerative medicine, medical devices and in vitro-diagnostics, and, provide regulatory support to customers with FDA submissions, whilst establishing ISO 13485 / ISO 22442 compliant quality systems. Dr White holds a first class degree in Microbiology, a Ph.D. in Fermentation Technology and an MBA.
Suzanne Shand joined Angel in 2010. The role of Director of Project Management utilises both her development and operational experience as well as her significant project management experience. Suzanne has an extensive scientific background with a BSc (Hons) in molecular and cell biology. She has held senior scientific and managerial roles in various life science organisations including Axis-Shield Diagnostics, Stirling Medical Innovations (SMI) and Aptuit.
Alison has a BSc (Hons) in biological sciences and over ten years' experience working in the biologics industry. She worked for Scottish Agricultural College within their UKAS Accredited Central Diagnostic Laboratory for four years prior to joining an FDA licensed production company, Serologicals Ltd. During her four years at Serologicals, Alison was responsible for the day to day running of the quality control biochemistry and microbiology laboratories and overseeing the testing of both intermediate and final blood typing products.
Alison progressed to Angel Biotechnology in November 2005 as Quality Control Manager prior to promotion to her current position in 2007.
Angel's MHRA licensed facilities are located at Pentlands Science Park on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
